Racing games are quite common on iPhone and Android platforms. There is literally a plethora of them available. Some good. Some great. More than a few bad. The Riptide series has consistently held a higher than average rating on the platforms Vector Unit has released it on. This is like a safety blanket for fans looking for something fun to play that is going to be worth their time. Now, Riptide GP Renegade is available for two new platforms.
Riptide GP Renegade is a jetski style racing game, somewhat similar to Wave Race by Nintendo- a series that started on the Nintendo 64 and set records for fun. Vector Unit are known for giving more than normal in their game releases. Anyone that has played Beach Buggy Blitz knows what I mean. Riptide GP Renegade is no different.
First up is a deep career mode that offers winning cash and even boss fights along with upgrades and customization options. Online multiplayer is also present- take on friends and strangers alike and make them eat your watery wake. On Apple TV and NVIDIA Shield Android TV you can even play four player split screen if you have enough controllers. This is kind of cool, especially for a retro gaming fan like myself that remembers the days of four player split screen. Nice touch.
A water based racing game would not be worth its salt if the water physics were not spot on. Vector Unit know how to program a watery physics engine- some of this was seen in previous games like Beach Buggy Blitz but shines in Riptide GP Renegade.
