Man Dies While Playing Pokémon Go?

A new hoax has reached the ears of Twitter and Pokémon fans everywhere. The scam implies that a man fell off a bridge while trying to capture a pocket monster. Pokemon Go was released to the world a few days ago and the rules are simple capture, battle, train Pokémon. This can be done by traveling around your home, city, country, world with your Pokémon Go App on Android and iPhone.  Sadly the potential for trolling is at an all-time high thanks to this app. Fans expect Rocket Team like gangs to form, fights to break out, and even robberies to be committed by fans of Pokémon Go.

Of course none of these things have happened, yet, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from trying to troll society. The article which as mentioned above implies a man fell off a bridge during a Pokemon Go sessions is not true in the least. The original article speaks of a motorcyclist who fell off a bridge after being hit by a drunk driver. The drunk driver was driving on the opposite side of the road and impacted the motorcycle which failed to dodge the incoming vehicle. The 15 foot drop caused the rider to die while the driver fled to the nearest shopping mall trying to flee in urgency.

What does this mean for us Pokémon Go Fans? It means absolutely nothing, except to not believe everything we read on the web. Pokémon Go has not claimed a single victim, and the world has not rioted while trying to capture a legendary beast. The app itself is really fun and if you’re a fan of Pokémon then don’t be afraid to download it. Trust me if you were going to get robbed from playing Pokémon Go then it will not be for your Pokémon. Use common sense when trying to find the beast and don’t fall victims to rare beast found in dark alleyways in the middle of the night. Travel in groups and in well-lit locations. But, most of all have fun; it’s Pokémon a series that is near and dear to all our hearts and deserves to be played. Let’s go become the Pokémon Masters we were destined to be.
