In 11 complete seasons of Supernatural, we have seen the Winchester Brothers battle just about every monster, creature, and entity you can imagine, but in the upcoming season, their foe may be the most dangerous one yet…humans. It’s certainly too early to start giving definitive theories to how the new season will play out, but lets just examine what we know so far.
(Season 11 Finale Spoilers Ahead!)
In the finale of season 11, we say the boys say good-bye to each other once again as Dean prepares to become a human bomb to destroy Amara. But wait, he doesn’t die? Really? That’s new. God and Amara kiss and make up in what has hyped up to be the biggest epic battle ever (dropped the ball on that one). Oh yeah, Amara has a surprise for the boys, for being so good. Mommy’s alive! So does that mean that Dad’s back too, I wonder? Maybe we just haven’t seen him yet.
Meanwhile, Sam goes back to the bunker with the belief that his brother went boom and is surprised by a woman waiting for him. She introduces herself as Lady Toni with The Men of Letters London Chapter. They have sent her to collect the boys and bring them in because they’re out of control. Sam says that she can’t make him go so she pulls a gun and pulls the trigger. Did she shoot him? Will the season start with trying to save Sam’s life?
The next season is going to be the first of it’s kind for the long-running CW series. And while we hate to have to wait for the next season to begin, we don’t have to wait horribly long. The CW announced that Supernatural will return in the fall line-up rather than the late October/ early November schedule we have grown accustomed to in past years. The hit show is also moving back to it’s old time slot on Thursday night at 9 PM. I don’t know how good of an idea that is with other networks like ABC and NBC banking on Thursday nights as their big ratings night, but regardless, Supernatural Season 12 will be one of a kind for the series.
