Disney Live Action Movie Snow White Being Made

So as we know there are a lot of Disney remakes going around. Well this time they are playing around with the Walt Disney classic Snow White but it will be going by the name Rose Red. As you guessed from the title it will be another Disney live action adaption, but they are said to add a twist.

Let us look back before moving forward:

Snow White is a lot older than we think, it is actually a nineteenth-century German fairy tale which is today known widely across the world. The Brothers Grimm published it way back in 1812 in the first edition of Grimms’ Fairy Tales. From there the amazing Walt Disney got his hands on it and made it the wonderful Disney animation it is today. This was Walt’s first Disney animation back in 1937 and he called it Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.

We all know the story of Snow White don’t we?  Good… I won’t have to go into the nitty-gritty. Basicly it’s a movie that has stood the test of time and is still capturing the hearts of children to this day.

As I just said Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the movie that started it all for Disney so it comes as a huge shock that they want to cut it, add bits and come away from the real story in a live action version. Snow White’s sister, Rose Red, did not appear in the animated classic but she did have a role in the original Grimm’s fairy tale.

This live-action remake will play around a bit with the tale and have Snow White take a bite from the poison apple and fall into her deep sleep. Her estranged sister, Rose Red, will instead of the Prince be the hero of the story and undertake a dangerous quest with Grumpy and the other dwarves to find a way to break the curse.

Piggy backing off Frozen a little bit there don’t you think? What do you think about this happening to a beloved classic?
