What I Make Of Saw Legacy

Wanna play a game? It’s called let’s see how many times we can milk a franchise that has already had too many sequels to start with. Horror fans should know by now that Saw Legacy is in the works to be released October 2017. Don’t they think the so-called final instalment Saw 7 The Final Chapter was pushing it a bit?

Everyone has heard of the Saw movies if not then you must have been living under a rock all these years. The franchise revolves around John Kramer, also called the “Jigsaw Killer” or simply just “Jigsaw”. He was introduced very briefly in Saw and developed in more detail in Saw II.

Rather than just doing the usual serial killer thing and out right killing his victims, Jigsaw puts them or should I say “traps” them in situations that he calls “games”. The whole point of these games is to test their will to live through physical and psychological torture, which he stows upon them. Despite the fact that John was murdered in Saw III, the films continue to focus on the influence the Jigsaw Killer had on his apprentices. the movies carry on by exploring his character through flashbacks.

The killings in these movies are brutal and you find yourself having to look away out of fear of up-chucking your popcorn and fizzy drink. It was said that the movie franchise was to end with the 7th installment Saw 3D, The Final Chapter But lately it has come to light that there is an 8th movie in the works by the name of Saw Legacy.

I admit it will be very interesting to see where they are going to go with it but I don’t think we need another installment after Saw III. Things just got all kinds of confusing the more they went on. We go to see a horror movie to be scared or grossed out and not to sit through the whole movie wondering what the hell is going on. Don’t you agree?

What do you guys think about this?
