Hey everyone I started thinking about the pilot episode of our beloved The Vampire Diaries and started thinking, these guys have played the same roles going on 7 years now. I though to myself how fun it would be to do a comparison of our favourite TVD cast/characters. Lets take a look shall we?
The show was first brought to us on 10th September 2009. (wow that long ago). Lets go back in history and see what we find.

Ian Somerhaulder – Damon Salvatore.

As you can see our beautifully, handsome and sexy Damon, (Ian Sumerhaulder) has hardly changed at all in the past 7 years. In 2009 he had slightly more of a baby face and now is a little more rugged but OMG how this man makes my heart pound yum yum.

Paul Wesley – Stefan Salvatore.

Well as you can see 2009 the hero vampire Stefan (Paul Wesley) in 2009 was cute as a button, with his “Hero hair” and wonderful smile. He is much more manly in 2016 and has lost some of that baby-faced edge.For me he is  definitely more handsome with age.

Nina Dobrev – Elena Gilbert.

2016 Nina’s comeback:

Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) is returning to the show which is why she is obviously on this list of characters past and present. Not to mention she is a massive part of the the Vampire Diaries story from day one and still is. Nina has gone from a beautiful young girl to a stunning woman. I can’t wait for her comeback, but if the stories are true she wont be coming back as the beloved Elena (if you want to know more I will leave a link at the bottom of the page to the full Nina comeback story)

Kat Graham – Bonnie Bennet.

Look how young our Bon Bon (Kat Graham) looks in the top picture from 2009 its crazy how much she has changed, (not that that’s a bad thing) She’s a beautiful woman now all grown up.

Candice King – Caroline Forbes.

Caroline Forbes (Candis King) went from annoying bratty teen to an amazing woman in the years she has been with The Vampire Diaries we have watched her grow from a pretty little buttercup to a stunning red rose.

Alaric Saltzman – Matthew Davis.

Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis) sorry to say as much as I love the guy went from all kinds of yum yum teacher to, hmm what happened as The Vampire Diaries continued. I think the clean look suits him much better than the manly look. what do you guys think?

Matt Donovan – Zach Roerig.

I personally prefer an all grown up Matty blue (Zach Roerig) apart from the funky hair doo, I think he has really bloomed into a very handsome man indeed.

There you have it, all the cast that stuck it out with us on The Vampire Diaries journey. I can’t believe we have to say goodbye this year.
