Best Upcoming Horror Movies This October

As we all know October is normally a time for terrifiying horror movies to hit the cinema. With Halloween just around the corner I expected an impressive horror movie list. Sadly, that is not the case. We have a few decent ones, but all in all I have to say it’s not really the great line up I was expecting.  Let us take a look at what will be showing.

The Girl on the Train:

This horror/thriller will be hitting the cinema’s on October 7th. It’s about Rachel, (Emily Blunt) a woman devastated by her recent divorce. She spends her days fantasizing about the perfect couple who live in the house where her train passes each day. One day she see’s something terrible happen and find’s her self wrapped up in the horror of it as mystery starts to unfold around her.

Friend Request:

If you’re looking for a decent jump scare movie then this one is for you. This social media based horror will be in cinema’s October 7th.  A popular college student receives a friendship request from a girl named Marinda, but upon unfriending the girl faces horrific consequences. Marinda kills herself and suddenly the college girl and her friends are tormented by a demonic force.

Jack Goes Home:

This movie hits the big screen on October 14th. Jack’s parents are involved in a horrible car crash from which only his mother survives. The news of his father’s death hits him hard as he returns to his childhood home to help his mother get past her emotional and physical injuries. It’s then he discovers the well-kept secrets of his family’s history, and of his own identity. Jack’s journey through the truth is fueled by madness, hauntings, and violence.

Rob Zombie’s 31:

This one comes to cinemas on October 21st. It seems like a mixture between American Horror Story: Freak Show and Hostel. It is a horrific story of five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween. They are held hostage by their captors, and are forced to play a twisted game of life or death called 31. For 12 hours, they must fight for their lives against a group of homicidal maniacs.

Ouija origins of evil:

This horror movie also hits the cinemas on October 21st. Although the first movie Ouija was terrible I am quite looking forward to this sequel. Set in 1965, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to their scam business, and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is then possessed by an evil spirit, the family has to confront unthinkable fears in order to save her.

Rings 3D:

This terrifying 3D movie hits the cinema’s on October 28th. The deadly videotape has returned! A young woman is worried about her boyfriend who explores a mysterious videotape that is said to kill you within seven days of watching it. She sacrifices herself in order to save her boyfriend, but upon doing so discovers there is a movie within the movie. One no one has ever seen before.
