Stephen King’s Kinky Horror Erotica Novel Is Becoming A Movie

For those who didn’t know, Stephen King once wrote a very erotic horror novel and that said novel is now being turned into a movie adaption. Looks like 50 shades of grey better watch out.

In 1992 the novel Gerald’s game was wrote by the fantastic lord of horror Stephen King. With the book he took kinky sex and added a terrifying twist of horror. That novel will now be turned into a movie adaption on Netflix by the very sought after horror director Mike Flanagan.

“If you know the source material, you’ll know there are a lot of challenges inherent in that story,” said Mike Flanagan, director of the recently produced and extremely successful home invasion thriller Hush.

Anyone who has read Gerald’s game by Stephen King, knows that it is one of his more risqué novels and can possibly see why it would be a challenge for director Flanagan to come up with a suitable screen adaption. The novel is based on a couple driving to a secluded cabin in the woods, they strip down and getting dirty. The man then handcuffs his willing girlfriend to the bed, ready for their passionate night of unadulterated, kinky sex games.
As you can guess due to it being a novel by the lord of horror, Stephen King its ends up being pretty gruesome and down right horrific to say the least. So you can see why it’s not really the kind of stuff conventional movie studios are eager to include in their movies.

“It’s a real challenge for financiers and distributors, who say, ‘Yeah, we love your work, we love Stephen King, but this story, this particular story? We don’t know how it works,’ without reshaping it to fit a much more conventional structure, which I did not want to do,” Flanagan then added.

So we look forward to that hitting our screens. What do you make of this one? At least it’s not a remake lol.
