Mario Bros Super Mushroom – Free Pattern

Hey everyone I just finished making this adorable  Mario Bros super mushroom. He is so much fun to make and super soft an squishy. Would be great for any Mario fans in your life. I thought I would share this pattern with all you crochet crafters out there. These would make lovely Christmas presents don’t you think?

What you will need:

4.5 mm hook
fiber glue or a hot glue gun
DK wool in red and white
2 small buttons for the eyes
Fiberfil (stuffing)
And a darning needle for the loose ends
Lets get started:

This work is all made in joined rounds.

Start with your red wool

Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring
Rnd 2: inc in each sc around
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 4: sc in next 2 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 5: sc in next 3 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 6: sc in next 4 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 7: sc in next 5 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 8: sc in next 7 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 9: sc in next 8 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 10: sc in next 9 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 11: sc in each sc around
Rnd 12: sc in next 10 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 13: sc in next 11 sc, inc in next sc around
Rnd 13-17: sc in each sc around
Rnd 18: sc in next 10 sc, dec over next 2 sc
Rnd 19: sc in each sc around
Rnd 20: sc in next 9 sc, dec over next 2 sc
Rnd 21: sc in next 8 sc, dec over next 2 sc
Rnd 22: sc in next 7 sc, dec over next 2 sc
Rnd 23: sc in next 6 sc, dec over next 2 sc
Rnd 24: sc in next 5 sc, dec over next 2 sc

 Change for white yarn

Rnd 25: working on BACK LOOPS only for this round, sc in next 5 sc, in in next sc around (42)
Rnd 26-27: sc in each sc around (42)

Begin stuffing the mushroom and continue stuffing as you progress.

Rnd 28: sc in next 5 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (36)
Rnd 29: sc in next 4 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (30)
Rnd 30: working on BACK LOOPS only for this round, sc in next 3 sc, dec over next 2 sc around (24)
Rnd 31: sc in next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc (18)
Rnd 32: sc in next sc, dec over next 2 sc (12)
Rnd 33: dec over next two sc around around (6)
Fasten off, weave tail through final stitches to close the hole and hide the rest inside the mushroom.

Spots (make 5)

• With white yarn

Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: inc in each sc around (12)
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, inc in next sc around (18)
Rnd 4: sc in next 2 sc, inc in next sc around (24)
Rnd 5: sc in next 3 sc, inc in next sc around (30)
Rnd 6: sc in next 4 sc, inc in next sc around (36)
Fasten Off, leave a long tail for sew.

Hot glue/ fabric glue on the spots and glue on the buttons and there he is.
