With just weeks to go until the final ever season of The Vampire Diaries there is still no real confirmation about whether the actress Nina Dobrev will be returning. This has got many fans worried, including myself as most of us really want to see Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) get their happy ending. (God knows they deserve it)
There is so many reports going around the internet saying that she is refusing to return, as she does not want to be reunited with ex lover and ex co-star Ian Somerhalder. I was looking for any updates this morning when I came across so many site headlines stating that she will not return.
Parent Herald reported that the bosses of The Vampire Diaries Season 8 have already finalized the storyline of their last season. Following this, there are rumors that the production is trying to invite the Twilight star Kristen Stewart for the finale.
I don’t believe for one second though that The CW and especially Julie Plec would lower themselves to fall back on a substitute for Elena Gilbert (or at least I truly hope not). If Nina is not going to return, I think the show will end on a brotherly love ending or at least that’s how I would like to think it would go should Nina Dobrev not return to her role.
It’s becoming increasing hard to know what stories to believe about the show and which ones to dismiss lately as most of them seem quite plausible. It’s been said that Elena will return but fall back into the arms of Stefan (Paul Wesley) therefore ending things between Stefan and Caroline. Could the show do this to our badass Salvatore brother Damon? Surely not!
Whether Nina is to return or not, they certainly seem to be keeping it hush hush, which I can only hope is a good thing. The Vampire Diaries Season 8 premieres on October 21st, and die-hard fans such as myself are dreading the moment we have to say goodbye to the show. Hopefully though some of our characters could make their way over to The Originals. I myself am hoping the very sexy Damon will head over there and of course Caroline (Candice King) so we can see her reunite with our loveable hybrid Klaus (Joseph Morgan).
I guess it’s a waiting game from here on in guys, I will carry on bringing you The Vampire Diaries news and updates as I get them and keep you all updated.
