The Ring horror movie franchise scared the s**t out of me. So why is it people aren’t really jumping up and down about another addition?  Is it that it should’ve just ended with The Ring Two, or that they left it too long to bring out another?

The movie series of The Ring was based on a 1998 Japanese horror film by the name of Ringu. So of course we needed an american version. I have never seen the Japanese movies but from what I have heard they are way better than the remakes.

The Ring 2002:

I thought this movie was amazing, and if you have followed any of my previous posts than you would know that ghosts and creepy kids freak me out in movies. We all know the story by now – a videotape filled with disturbing and creepy images leads to a phone call saying the viewers will come to their death in exactly seven days. Rachel Keller is skeptical of the story until four teenagers all die mysteriously after watching the tape. Allowing her curiosity to get the better of her, Rachel finds the video and watches it. Now she has just seven days to unravel the mystery or she will die.

The Ring Two 2005:

A high school student, Jake tries to make his girlfriend Emily watch a cursed videotape. Later, Jake finds out that Emily covered her eyes and didn’t watch the tape, and then Jake is killed by Samara Morgan (the girl from the first The Ring movie). Rachel Keller learns of Jake’s death and finds his twisted body in the back of an ambulance. Rachel then realizes she once again has to save her son Aidan from Samara the creepy ghost child.

Rings 2016:

Hitting the cinema’s on October 21st I was expecting a lot more excitement for this new addition to the franchise. Still no one I talk to seems really that fussed. Did this movie run its course with The Ring Two? Did people just get bored? The story line seems really cool and the trailer looks scary as hell, so tell me in the comments why this does not excite you. The new movie is about – A young woman who becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a mysterious videotape said to kill the you, seven days after it has been viewed. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery – there is a movie within the movie that no one has ever seen before. You can’t honestly tell me that this new movie doesn’t sound fantastic? Let’s watch the trailer.
