Eddie Murphy is not much heard of when it comes to movies lately. Recently he has contemplated returning back to the stand up comedy scene, as he did in his younger years. His most famous stand up comedy was his stand up live shows Delirious and Raw. He voiced, the donkey, sidekick in Shrek Forever After and has played many other roles.
His most famous role has to have been the amazingly, hilarious The Nutty Professor. In this movie Murphy took on a massive array of characters, and it was far from short of giggles and side-splitting laughs. So what has the comedy actor got planned for future projects?
Everyone knows that to be huge these days on the Hollywood scene, then you need to in some way take on the role of a superhero. During an interview with Mashable he was asked if he would ever do a superhero movie. His reply is actually what you would expect from this stand up genius:
“I’m kind of long in the tooth to fly in a cape now, so I’d have to be like the voice of reason or somebody. “Don’t do that, super-fellow! Or we need such-and-such.” I would do a superhero movie if it was funny and we were making fun of superhero movies and I figured out how to do something funny. But even I don’t buy me flying in with a cape on and you know, fucking everybody up, having lasers shoot out. See this? Doesn’t this look like bullshit? What would you call this? Who would I be?
He then added:
“…If you seen a poster like this on the street, and lasers are shooting out my fingers and I had a cape on. You would go, “get the fuck out of here.”
We can only hope the future will hold a superhero funny role to get the great Mr. Murphy back on the movie scene. Only time will tell! After all the guy is one of the funniest comedians I have ever sat and watched, his movies are brilliant and quite frankly he’s easy on the eyes considering his age.
He’s been around a long time I deserves recognition for how great he truly is. I say let him do an epic superhero spoof, I guarantee, you will cry with laughter.
