Jason Voorhees has been added to the mobile version of Mortal Kombat X, after already hitting the console and PC versions.  This is great news for fans of the game since it means they can earn another, cooler, character to play as.  My question is, what other characters deserve a chance in the series?  Should more movie icons be added?  We have seen the addition of the Predator already, for instance.  Should it be some darker comic book characters?  Who?  I take a look at some of the more interesting additions to the dark world of Mortal Kombat X.

First- Dutch from Predator

Imagine adding Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character from the Predator movie to continue his rivalry with the title character, Predator, in Mortal Kombat X?  How cool would that be?  It would open the game worlds to more varied arenas too- at least a couple of jungle scenes (maybe a normal tree heavy one and then one with a waterfall/river running through it).  Could be pretty cool.

Second- Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street

The stuff of nightmares is what Freddy Krueger represents.  While the movies are pretty tame by today’s standards, back in the day they were the epitome of horror.  The movies were very well at making you sleep uneasy for weeks after viewing them, at least the first couple.  Freddy coming to Mortal Kombat X could open up new levels (how about that steam room? Or a twisted bedroom scene?).   We remembered Wes Craven, director of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies here.

Third- Duke Nukem from Duke Nukem 3D/Forever

Come on, the trash talking, ass kicking, protagonist from the only series that really gave Doom a run for their money is a given.  After the fiasco that was what became of Duke Nukem Forever, whomever owns the rights to Duke Nukem is probably interested in making some money off of the character.  What better way than to let him join the ranks of Mortal Kombat X?  The backgrounds could revolve around space (with floaty controls) and the iconic burning trash dumpster in the first level of his first game.

Fourth- Ryu/Ken from Street Fighter series

Okay, this is a little bit of a stretch but it could happen.  Capcom has worked with competitors in the past to do cross-overs so why not here?  I chose Ryu/Ken since they are the most recognizable of the Street Fighter characters and they both have at least one flame style attack (Ken has two if you count the flaming Dragon Punch).  Their fatalities could revolve around their fire attacks, similar to Scorpion in past games.

Finally- Michael Myers from Halloween movies

Alright, much like Jason, here we have a non-talking bad-ass that just gets the job done and moves onto the next victim.  Of the two, I find Michael Myers the more unsettling.  Levels could revolve around town settings (the infamous house in the background of one, of course).  Give him lots of blade related attacks/fatalities and see what happens.
