Top 10 Games to Play on Xbox One X in 2018

The Xbox One X is arguably the most powerful console available. Ever. With that kind of power comes a need by fans to know what are the best games to play on such a powerful console. Here are my Top 10 picks for Xbox One X owners to grab in 2018. These are in no specific order. Got a different list in mind? Let me know in the comments!

Assassin’s Creed Origins

This edition takes the franchise to the old days of Egypt with over 50 hours of gameplay in glorious 4K with HDR support. The upgraded graphics of the Xbox One X coupled with the games built-in photo mode makes Assassin’s Creed Origins almost seem more like a virtual vacation if it wasn’t for all of the stabbing and death.

Gears of War 4

What would a list of the Top 10 list of Xbox One X games be without at least one exclusive title to showcase the power of the console? Gears of War 4 is simply a splendid example of what the Xbox One X can do. First person shooter (FPS) fans know the franchise and have shown great support for it in the past so it is only fitting that it receives some X style updates.

Forza Motorsport 7

60 frames per second, blazing speed, beautiful tracks and cars. What more can you want from a racing game? Forza Motorsport 7 is simply gorgeous on the Xbox One X console. This is your flagship game if you own the most powerful console on the planet. Plain and simple.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

Open world adventuring in this one. Now this is my type of game and on Xbox One X it is just amazing looking. Smash orcs heads in and keep your butt out of the fire in Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. Nothing else available is like it.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

This franchise needs no introduction for gamers that have been around more than this year. For those unsure about Rise of the Tomb Raider, you take on the role of Lara Croft, globetrotting, pilferer of dilapidated treasure rooms, while looking hot doing it. You know, just a normal day in the life of a game vixen.

Call of Duty: World War II

Another First-Person Shooter in Call of Duty: World War II by Activision. I know, I have a lot of these on this list. It is what it is, and these are the best-looking games you can get to showcase the Xbox One X. The Xbox One X enhanced edition is simply amazing looking and the game is great. Just ask any FPS fan.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

One of the oldest titles on this list, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is still an amazing looking game on the Xbox One X and is considered one of the best role-playing games in general, not just on Microsoft’s latest powerhouse console.

Okay, this is the game that is going to be controversial to be on this list as so many complain that it is simply just too damn hard. Back in the day, 8 to 16-bit days, we reveled in hard games. I can understand why people hate this one, I would too if I couldn’t get past level one (work those skills people). 1920’s art style, 60 frames per second animation on Xbox One X make this game even more enjoyable, if you have the skills to see the later levels.

Elder Scrolls Online

Another role-playing game here, and what an RPG it is. The Elder Scrolls franchise is one of the most modded, at least later editions, RPG’s in the history of computers. With the Xbox One X you probably won’t miss the graphics mods that much as the update for this game made the massively multiplayer world that much better looking now that it is in 4K and has a better view distance.

Destiny 2

The Xbox One X update for this game brings the title on par with the PC version with 4K graphics with HDR support. You know who you are and if Destiny 2 is in your collection, you have to play it on Xbox One X.

The Xbox One X is the most powerful console on the market and the games that support that power simply look amazing. Now it is another story if Sony will be able to compete with a future update on their PlayStation 4 or if they will simply concede and focus on the inevitable PlayStation 5 console.
