Splasher Receives Release Date for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Windows, Macintosh

Splasher Playstation 4 Xbox One Windows Macintosh

Okay, anyone that has followed my writing for very long knows I love the 2D genre. It is a dying genre in my eyes, at least on consoles, where developers could go hog wild with the game. I somehow missed the e-mail alerting me to this new game called Splasher. If you own a Playstation 4 or an Xbox One then you need to add this title to your “get” list. I am going to explain why.

First, Splasher is a 2D side scrolling action arcade adventure that looks quite frenetic. Set in a cartoon universe of weirdness, Splasher sets to change how we think of the genre. Sure, there are enemies avoid or destroy and there are platforms to jump on, how you do that stuff is completely new. With ink. Yep, ink.

The story is just as wild as the mechanics you will use to complete your goals. You are a young purple haired hero armed with a splatter cannon that shoots assorted colors of ink. Your goal is to save the workers of this factory as the boss has gone evil and set inhumane conditions on the workforce.  The ink your gun shoots has different capabilities including making the ground bouncy or sticky. These attributes the ink exhibits are key to your being able to complete your mission.

Splasher looks quite good, based on the game play video above. Clocking in at over 20 levels fans of 2D action will have plenty to keep them busy with Splasher. When you are bored with the single player mode there will be a Time Attack and Speedrun mode available to test your skills, or to hone them further.
