ESPN Updates App with Many New Options

ESPN, the leading channel for sports fans, has been doing their best to replicate that position on the web and mobile devices. One more step has been taken to overtake any possible competitor in the mobile market with new updates to the app. Some of these updates are quite interesting for ESPN fans, and sports fans in general.

The Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) was originally founded in 1979. ESPN is a joint venture between two companies, The Walt Disney Company (the majority shareholder) and the Hearst Corporation (the minority shareholder). SportsCenter was the leading programming on ESPN in the late 70s and has become the flagship show of the network.

Some of the updates that ESPN have added in the latest update include a new live streaming experience, a stats button, and live cards. Hardcore sports fans will enjoy the new ability to switch streams on the fly between live games on the network. The app has also undergone some reworking of the overall style of the app.

The biggest addition in this update is probably the Chromecast support. Now sports fans can cast live games from their phone or tablets to their television sets. This is a nice addition as it is obviously easier to enjoy sports on a large screen television than on a small screen like a cell phone or tablet.

Sports fans will enjoy these updates to the app. Although football fans may be saddened that these updates came at the end of the football season. You can still use the stats button to keep up on Kaepernick and his antics on the field (when he plays since he was recently benched). That stats button seems to be the unknown hero of this update as it is going to offer a ton of stats for fans to sift through on the fly.
