UFC Future not Bright for CM Punk

This last Saturday we got our first taste of CM Punk in the UFC.  That same Saturday CM Punk probably realized he was in over his head in the octagon.  I won’t ruin the results of CM Punk’s debut against Mickey Gall.  I am sure if you are on social media you already know who won, instead I would like to focus on the former WWE superstars’ future in UFC.

“My initial venture into this was gonna be at the lowest level,” CM Punk said at the post-fight news conference (via MMA Fighting). “This opportunity just got presented to myself and I would have been a fool to say no. I don’t know what happens from here on out. What if I get cut? I don’t know. I think that’s a possibility. Do I want that to happen? No. But who’s to say where I go from here? I don’t know.

“I definitely want to keep going.”

You have to hand it to CM Punk.  He is not letting his initial outing in the octagon stop him from wanting to continue and grow as a UFC fighter.  The question now is, will he be given that chance or will he be dropped from the roster and forced to go to another organization, possibly in Asia?

“He probably shouldn’t have his next fight in the UFC,” Dana White said of Punk to Fight Network.

That pretty much sums up the situation CM Punk faces in the UFC as Dana White is the Vince McMahon of the octagon.  If Dana White says you are out, you may as well get ready for that pink slip in your paycheck.

So, with the future of CM Punk being dim with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) where do you think he will go?  He can’t really come back to the WWE due to the multi-million dollar lawsuit he has against them.  TNA is probably not going to welcome him back after years of him bashing the company.  UFC apparently sees no value in having him on the roster.  That leaves overseas or a lesser known promotion here in the United States, if one will have CM Punk after his showing in UFC.

What are your thoughts?  Was CM Punk really that bad in his debut that he should lose his job?
