As we know the new Power Ranger movie is in production. True die-hard fans, have been very unsure about the reboot going ahead. Well it appears the posters haven’t filled us with hope about the new Power Rangers being a successful movie.
With the new movie release date closing in hard and fast, there have been some pretty epic posters which have been released in hopes of causing more anticipation towards the movie. While the Blue, Pink, red, yellow and black rangers are suited up which they all look great in their new suits but…. A problem arrises when fans have noticed that when one of the posters was tweeted it had a caption that fans found very offensive and insensitive.
Fans found that the yellow rangers individual poster was a disgraceful joke to the original yellow ranger, Thuy Trang who died in a car crash accident. the reason for fans anger is due to the caption on the yellow rangers poster which read “Drivers ed not required”
Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Becky G and Ludi Lin play the all new Rangers, but as the film studio tweeted each picture of them individually, they brought back terrible memories of the original yellow ranger who died tragically.
Instantly, many fans blasted the wording with one writing: “You do remember Thuy Trang died in a car crash right? You couldn’t give that tag line to ANY of the other 4 not named Trini?”
Another wrote: “That’s not cool # JusticeforThuy “, while somebody else tweeted: “Very insensitive to add that to Yellow Ranger poster.”
Facebook fans were just as offended by the caption, with one person commenting: “I find it rather uncomfortable that the caption for the yellow rangers promo pic is “Drivers Ed not needed” considering the original yellow ranger Trini had died in a car accident in real life. #JusticeForTrini “.
Late actress Thuy Trang was the very first Yellow Ranger in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series. Trang died in a car accident in 2001 near San Francisco at the young age of 27. So yeah I’m right there with the Power Rangers fans, it’s a damn disgrace. I just hope for Thuy Trang’s family that they never, ever see the poster.
