She’s All That Remake in the Works?

The movie industry looks like its moving from 80’s remakes, and onto the 90’s era. She’s All That the amazing 1999 chick flick in the works for a remake. The original starred Freddie Prinze Jr. as Zach the hot, popular high school kid. Did you notice back in the 90’s a chick flick just wasn’t perfect unless it starred the handsome actor?

She’s All That has to have been one of the best high school based flicks of the 90’s bar none. It’s about high school jock Zach Siler, (Freddie Prinze Jr.) who is the most popular guy in school. But his popularity declines swiftly when his girlfriend, Taylor (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), leaves him for reality-television star Brock Hudson (Matthew Lillard). Zach and his friends make a bet, his bet is he has six weeks to gain the trust of nerdy outcast Laney Boggs (Rachael Leigh Cook) and help her to become the school’s next prom queen. Little did he know the girl would steal his heart. The movie also starred the late Paul Walker as Dean Sampson (one of Zach’s friends).

One of the best parts of the movie has to have been the synchronized high school prom dance. Just in case you forgot how that goes here’s a little throw back clip for you fans out there.

The remake:

After news of the remake first surfaced, a Twitter user reached out to Freddie Prinze Jr, writing, “You know, just Hollywood running out of ideas one more time. But what’s new?”

He replied, “tough for writers with original scripts.”

To make this remake work they are going to have to cast some pretty big name’s, although I don’t think for one second that they will ever top the original. What do you guys think of this remake?
