Harrison Ford Returns to the Stage in New Blade Runner and Indiana Jones Movies
Harrison Ford is not taking back his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VIII. However, his fans will see him on the big screen soon enough. With the Blade Runner sequel and Indiana Jones 5, in which he will play Rick Deckard and the title role, respectively.
Directed by Denis Villenueve, the still titleless Blade Runner sequel is set to be released on Oct. 6, 2017. Ford’s co-stars include Jared Leto (Suicide Squad), Ryan Gosling Gangsta Squad), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and Lennie James (The Walking Dead) .
Blade Runner’s original movie was released on June 25 1982. Among Ford’s co-stars in the original film are Sean Young, Daryl Hannah, Edward James Olmos, Rutger Hauer, Brion James, Joe Turkel, James Hong, Hy Pyke and Kevin Thompson.
Ford reprises the title role in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It was directed by Steven Spielberg with a screenplay by Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz based on the story by George Lucas.
Ford and Spielberg will reunite in Indiana Jones 5. Recently, the director expressed his excitement about the movie.
“I think this one is straight down the pike for the fans,” The Hollywood Reporter quoted Spielberg as saying. The three-time Academy Award winner did not reveal plot any details but one thing he assured fans was that he is not going to kill off Ford’s character at the end of Indiana Jones 5.
Fans can expect the release of Indiana Jones 5 in July 2019. Ford’s co-stars in the sequel are yet to be announced.
