I am not a massive gamer, nor do I pretend to be. There are games though which I can’t seem to get enough of, some of which date back to the first Playstation and are still around today. As I sat over a cup of coffee today, I started thinking how epic some of these video games would be as movies.
Why is Pixar not all over this for a movie adaption? Crash Bandicoot is one of my favourite platform video games. The series is originally an exclusive to the Sony PlayStation, this amazing franchise was created by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin during their time at Naughty Dog for Sony Computer Entertainment.
The series has a massive total of eighteen games and has shipped over 50 million copies worldwide. Seriously all the remakes the classics the movie industry are trying to remake when there’s an awesome movie opportunity right here. If this was done just right it could be huge and smash the box office, So why havent they?
Once again another huge favourite of mine which I have played from the first Playstation to the newest game Rayman Legends for the Playstation 4. Once again why has this not been made into a movie? They made the terrible Angry Birds Movie adaption when they could have been making a movie of the pure legend that is Rayman.
Rayman is a platform video game series created by Michel Ancel and owned by Ubisoft. The original Rayman was a 2D sprite-based platformer similar to those of the 16-bit era but omg it was amazing in every way. Since then the series has become 3D, and has more variety added to the gameplay.
Come on Pixar or anyone in the movie industry for that matter, get your thinking caps on and look around you at the amazing potential these games hold. If Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog can get his own movie, then why can’t these guys!
