Cliffhanger Is Going To Go Through A Make Over
Craftymumthingz writes – I don’t know if this is true or not but, word on the movie grape-vine is that the Sylvester Stallone 1993 movie Cliffhanger is going to be going through a remake. I have said this a million times, but I am going to say it again, come up with new movie plots and leave the classics in the past.
Lets go back to 1993:
The very famous movie Cliffhanger back in 1993 smashed the box office with 255 million USD, and is still a popular movie even today. Back in the day when Sylvester Stallone was at his peak in hollywood. He had been widely known for the very popular rocky movies before this box office smash was released.
The movie Cliffhanger was an outdoor thriller in which a former mountain rescuer is pitted against a group of criminals who have lost their $100 million stash during a plane crash in the Mountains. After being persuaded to help rescue a group of stranded hikers, he discovers that they are in fact a gang of violent robbers who need help to locate their missing loot.
There has been talk for many years of a Cliffhanger sequel, named The Dam, but for some reason it never came to anything. Then again back in 2009 there came talk of a reboot from producer Neal Moritz who overseen the Total recall remake and also 21 jump street. Then apparently last year, Joe Gazzam was hired to start putting pen to paper and scribbling out a script for the Cliffhanger remake. Not much has been heard of since but considering all the movies which are being remade lately, it’s not a case of if but more of a when.
The question that I can’t shake out of my mind is, who the hell are they going to get who could take Sylvester Stallone‘s place. Come on the guy is a legend there is not a single person who I can think of who could do this movie justice.
If the movie is going to be fully modernized then my bets is for the yummy Channing Tatum, but that’s just a stab in the dark, or it could be wishful thinking on my part. Stay tuned at Gravisludus.com for any updates.
