What To Expect With Tim Burtons Dumbo Remake

So your all bound to know by now that Tim Burton has got the pleasure of doing a live action take on Dumbo… Dumbo! You know the sweet little elephant we all loved growing up… are they mad! Tim Burton although an amazing director, and the fact that I’m a huge fan of his own twisted take on stories, he should not be touching our sweet little Dumbo. So what can we expect with this remake?

We know the film will be part live-action and part CGI. I’ll give you one guess as to which character will be computer animated. Do you remember Dumbo in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Dumbo’s appearance was pretty much all for the sake of the joke, “He works for peanuts.” Although he was appearing in a live action movie he was still our sweet little Dumbo in his cute little hat (no CGI here)

Dumbo will most likely look more like a real elephant than an obvious Disney drawing, but instead a real looking flying elephant. I cant help but wonder if Dumbo’s companion and only friend Timothy Q. Mouse will be included in this movie and if so will he look like. My guess is like this…

When you think back to Dumbo by Walt himself what scene do you instantly go back to? For me that scene is Dumbo being rocked by his mother, who is locked away and classed as a mad elephant. I’m not ashamed to admit that even now when I watch this movie with my kids to this day, I still fill with tears and my heart breaks for the little guy. If Tim Burton leaves that scene out I am guessing there is going to be a lot of angry die-hard Disney fans out there. Be careful what you leave out Mr. Burton.

How do you feel about this remake? personally I hate, hate, hate it!
