Mary Poppins Returns Updates, Release Date And Casting Updates


So a release date has finally been announced for Mary Poppins returns. although it seems we may have a long while to wait at least we can sit back and enjoy the scoop I guess. So what does Julie Andrews think of mary Poppins Returns?

We have all seen or at least heard of the magical, family, fun, 1964 classic Mary Poppins. If not then Where have you been?¬† The old movie was about Jane and Michael the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family, are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews). Leading the children on a series of fantastic adventures with Mary and her Cockney friend, Bert (Dick Van Dyke), the siblings try to pass on some of their nanny’s sunny attitude to their very busy parents (David Tomlinson, Glynis Johns).

Surely now you have an idea of what movie im going on about! Ok now we are up to speed with this one lets talk Mary Poppins Returns. A release date has been set for the new Mary Poppins adventure and its said to be December 2018. A magical movie at a magical time of year, what could be more perfect. Its also appartent that they will be going for gold with the release date as the original was also released in December back in 1964.


What does Julie Andrews think of this movie?

Well as it turns out Andrews couldn’t be happier about the movie and the main actress who is going to try to fill her boots Emily blunt. Emily blunt stated that she could have cried upon receiving the approval from Julie Andrews and said it was a huge weight off her shoulders.

Where will this movie take us?

This time, the famous nanny’s wards have all grown up, but Mary returns to London after the family experiences a loss. Joining Blunt in “Mary Poppins Returns” is Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, who is described as a street lamplighter. Variety¬†reports that Meryl Streep is also in discussions to join the production. The actress is touted to play cousin Topsy, who was featured in the book series.

Just like the first movie, Mary Poppins Returns will also involve some singing. Blunt, Streep and Marshall have actually worked in a musical production before, via the film adaptation of “Into the Woods,” which earned various nominations. Blunt and Streep also worked together in “The Devil Wears a Prada.”
