Pet Sematary Set To Receive a Make-Over

Since we know 2017 is the year of the remakes there is also talk going around that Stephen King’s Pet Sematary is also going to be undergoing a movie make-over. This is a creepy movie remake which I am actually really excited about seeing. Comment and let me know what you guys think?

Lets do a recap (Pet Sematary 1983)

Louis Creed, a doctor from Chicago, is given the job of the campus health service. He moves to a house near a small town with his wife Rachel, their two children, Ellie and Gage, and the family cat named Church. As soon as the family arrive they run into trouble.

Ellie falls off a swing and Gage is stung by a bee. Their new elderly neighbour comes to help and warns Louis and Rachel about the highway that runs past their house, as it is constantly used by speeding trucks. The family go out on a walk in the woods behind their home, when they come across a path that leads to a pet cemetery (misspelled “sematary”). It is where the towns children go bury their deceased beloved animals.

The family worry about how Ellie may be affected by what she saw at the “sematary”. It’s explained further into the film that Rachel was traumatized by the death of her sister, who died from spinal meningitis.

Further into the movie, church (the cat) is accidentally killed. The neighbour advises Louis to bury him in the ground near the old pet cemetery. Not long after being buried the cat returns to life but its personality has changed for the worse. So when Louis’ 2 year old son, Gage dies tragically by being ran over by a truck, Louis decides to bury the boy’s body in the same ground near the cemetery.

Gage returns from the dead as a monstrous, demonic shadow of his former self and kills both Jud and Rachel.

Remake (Pet Sematary 2017)

There isn’t much information on this remake at the moment but according to IMDB the movie is in production. I have a feeling this may be one of the better remakes which are going to be done next year. I for sure will be closing the curtains and turning out the lights for this scary movie.
