Halloween is my most favourite time of the year. I love setting up the sweet bowls for the little ghouls who come to the door. Decorating the house with spiderwebs, skulls and hanging ghosts. The most fun thing about Halloween is when the kids are in bed and the movies come on. So when you draw the curtains and turn out the lights what spooktastic movies will you be watching on All Hallows’ Eve?
A Nightmare On Elm Street 1984:
This movie has always scared the socks off of me, even now being a fully grown woman I still close my eyes at the body bag scene *shivers*. It has to be the original for me though. Sure they did a good job on the remake but he wasn’t Robert Englund good.
The Ring 2002:
Another movie that gets me squeezing my eyes shut is The Ring. I just can’t sleep after watching it and I’m always scared to put my leg out of the blanket. It doesn’t help that when I watched it my husband would turn out all the lights and scare the s**t out of me.
The Exorcist 1974:
If I got offered a Porsche to watch this movie alone, I would seriously tell them to keep the god damn keys. The Exorcist is a classic horror movie, and for a good reason (it’s scary as s**t). Once watched you will never be able to forget the possessed child’s face, her unnatural body positions or the famous rotating head scene.
You might not think that a movie where the evil is completely faceless could be so terrifying, but in reality that only adds to the scare factor. Who can forget the words “Carol Anne, come to the light Carol Anne”. This movie is why if my TV goes fuzzy, I hide like a little girl under my blankets.
The Sixth Sense 1999:
This is my last movie of the list but by all means not the last. Give me Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies but omg, I do not do ghost movies well at all. After watching a movie with ghosts in I am seriously scared to sleep in the dark or even go to the bathroom in the night on my own.
I can almost hear the rants of what a wimp I am coming through the laptop lol. Have a spooky Halloween guys!
