It seems that Temple Run 2 is going the route of Street Fighter 2 around the whole of the 90’s. This is yet another expansion for the popular 3D endless runner. I missed out on the ice levels update that preceded this one. I don’t think I am missing much. This update is all about the desert and sand. Fans of that one episode of G.I. Joe where they entered that pyramid will probably find more than a little bit of fun in this one. If you can’t stand 3D, or 2D, endless running games then Temple Run 2 Blazing Sands is not going to change your mind though.
I am not quite sure what kind of creature is chasing you in Temple Run 2 Blazing Sands. It is wild and pissed, that is for sure though. The land you run through is quite detailed and changes often enough to keep you wondering what is next. I liked that the path is not always all there, requiring you to traverse twists and turns on one-third of the path. This was also the greatest source of trouble for me as I played. It is quite easy to lean your phone just enough the wrong way to have your character fall off the path.
I was not a huge fan of the first Temple Run but found the second to be better- still not my go to title. It is great that Imangi Studios are keeping Temple Run 2 alive with new updates and the like. It is also interesting that they are licensing out for other intellectual properties to use the engine. Like I said before, if you are a fan of endless running games then here you go- one of the best is now expanded with new content. For me, I will go back to Sky Force Reloaded after I post this review.
